SOUL (Software for University Libraries) was developed by INFLIBNET Centre, Gandhinagar (SOUL 1.0 in 2000, SOUL 2.0 in 2009, SOUL 3.0 in 2021). KOHA is the first open-source Integrated Library System (ILS) developed in 1999 in New Zealand.

DSpace (MIT & HP Labs) and EPrints are Institutional Repository software, whereas Greenstone is open-source Digital Library software.
